Neutron Spectroscopy

The spectroscopy group is a group within the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering (LNS), a joint venture of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), department Condensed Matter Research with Neutrons and Muons (NUM).

We run the following dedicated user instruments at the spallation neutron source SINQ:
- FOCUS Time of Flight spectrometer
- MARS back scattering spectrometer (in test phase)
- RITA II triple axis spectrometer with multianalyzer option
- TASP triple axis spectrometer with polarisation analysis option
We are building the thermal triple axis spectrometer
- EIGER Enhanced Intensity Greater Energy Range

We are doing research in various fields of condensed matter physics.
Here are some examples:
